Transfers In
You will probably have a user name and password for a control panel with your current provider. Please note that the domain host is not necessarily the same as your website host. If you are unsure who your domain is registered with you can find out by using our domain checker. Click on 'whois' under 'More Info' to find out who the registrant is. Most control panels enable you to transfer your domain. Alternatively you can give us your user name and password and we can initiate the transfer for you.
.uk domains: when you tell us that you are going to transfer a domain we will provide you with an IPS Tag. Enter this in your control panel or ask your current provider to update the IPS tag for you. Tell us when this is done so that we can pick the domain up.
.com and other domains: first you need to unlock the domain in the control panel and then provide us with an authorisation code. We will then request the domain transfer. An email will be sent to you with the transfer request which you must respond to within a few days or the transfer will fail. Note - before initiating the transfer make sure that the email address you provided when you registered the domain is still valid. Otherwise the request email will go nowhere.
.com and non .uk domains are registered for an additional year when you transfer the domain so a small charge will apply. Some registrars also charge for .uk domain transfers.
Transfers Out
If you wish to transfer a domain away from us please submit a support ticket via the helpdesk. For .uk domains please provide an IPS Tag. We will normally respond to requests for transfer out within 48 hours.
